Based on two runes: Hagalaz and Wunjo. By binding these two runes they caught the moment you want to slow down. A horse shaking of the sand after a good roll. The distortion of the shake shows up well when filmed in slowmotion. It’s a moment of joy, contentment and letting go. Horses roll for many reasons, one of them is to get rid of frustration.

The rune Thurisaz stands for thorn. A thorny bush can hurt but it can also be a space of protection for a hunted rabbit. The second rune that inspired this work is Pertho which stands for enclosed space or secret. A womb, a box, even your heart.

They combine well to convey the feeling of wanting to keep something you treasure safe. I think there are many horse people who have whispered secrets in their horses ears. .

Ansuz is the rune that represents the gods, the divine. There’s a story of how Odin received the knowledge of the runes. And the insight that came with them. Understanding the power of the written word. The second rune incoporated in this work is Othila. Othila represents ancestors and home. The combination of these two meanings is captured in the inverted gaze of this sculpture, with the open third eye, gathering the knowledge of all that went before us and being able to carry it on to further generations.

The runes Ehwaz and Laguz came together for this sculpture. Ehwaz stands for horse and Laguz for water. Both represent forms of movement. The eb and flow, coming and going. For Ehwaz the movement is more directional, going somewhere, reaching milestones, whereas Laguz stand for the perpetual coming and going of things.

I was inspired by the waddensea and seeing Noctiluca scintillans( sea sparkle) for the first time.

This work represents flow state.

"Each piece I create is a snapshot in time, a moment suspended in the delicate balance of existence, inviting viewers to embark on their own interpretative odyssey through the realms of imagination. “

"The eye of a horse is not the window to their soul. When you look into them they show you your soul. They reflect."

These sculptures are all handmade, one of a kind and original works of art. They can hang on you wall, stand on a pedestal or shelf horizontally or upright. I am willing to take commissioned works inspired by runes and your horse.
